Minto Landing Riverfront

Hello Chilliwack, Please Help Support A Proposed Recreational Leasehold Community along the Fraser River.

Chilliwack’s beautiful and historical Fraser River is a major tourism resource providing adventure, recreation, fishing, eco-tourism and cultural and historical attractions. In February 2025, 10.5 acres of a 35 acre waterfront property were proposed for redevelopment into a short- and long-term recreational Lease Hold community. The proposal seeks to provide 28 fully serviced overnight camping spots, 118 recreational homes, a restaurant and a discovery center for tourism, fishing guides and you the general public. Please see below the benefits of our development and click below to support the proposed community.

The Benefits of the Minto Landing Riverfront Community.

River Tourism

The Minto Landing Riverfront Lands are located within a short walk of Island 22 Regional Park. Owned by the City of Chilliwack, the park caters to Chilliwack residents, tourists, sport fishers and the equestrian community. Or those just wanting to walk the dog or get some fresh air. A long-term camping and vacation community adjacent to Island 22 will provide a valuable and much-needed complement to the city’s existing park amenities. The city can generate a significant economic boost and long-term economic output by enhancing the Fraser River attraction that it currently offers on Island 22 Regional Park.

The lands are currently zoned as M4 Heavy Industrial – RS-WLA waterfront lot. Under the current zoning the lands depreciated in taxable value to the city by 47% from 2024-2025. It is projected that the new proposed use for the property will far exceed the current M4 zoning

The Minto Landing Riverfront Lands sit along the Fraser River—an essential ecosystem where tourism can play a key role in promoting conservation and environmental awareness. This community will bring increased stewards to the lands and neighborhood deterring loitering, theft and trespassing of the Minto neighboring properties.

The Fraser River waters that flow past the proposed community have long provided food and travel for First nations within the Chilliwack area. We pay homage to the cultural significance of the waters and will provide a fishing ramp for the neighbouring First Nations to garner easy access to the Fraser River. We will also be providing meeting areas and showcase displays within the Discovery Center.

Come to view a discovery center that will showcase the rivers ecosystems, the environment and learn of the cultural and historical significance of the lands.

As the Coast to Canyon Walk comes into being, we are eager to work with the City of Chilliwack and Chilliwack Tourism to have a trail within the proposed community.

Site Plan

Here’s how the proposed Minto Landing vacation community would look. Compact, well-managed, and respectful of the Fraser. Exact locations and counts may shift as the City review moves forward.
